High Voltage Holiday Test
This image shows our plant manager, Chris Carroll, conducting a Holiday test on a tank car. He is using a high voltage holiday tester to check for any pinholes or defects in the coating, ensuring the integrity and durability of the protective layer. This non-destructive test is crucial for maintaining the tank car’s corrosion resistance and extending its service life.
Coating to Bottom of the Fittings Plate.
The image shows the bottom view of a fittings plate. The surface has been freshly recoated with a smooth, even finish, indicating a meticulous recoating process. Surrounding the main areas are precise masking lines, ensuring that only the intended sections receive the new coating. This careful masking prevents overspray and maintains clean edges, demonstrating a high level of attention to detail and precision in the recoating process.
Tank in Blast
This image captures the interior of our blast shop, showcasing the controlled environment where surface preparation takes place. The spacious area is equipped with advanced blasting equipment and ventilation systems designed to handle large industrial components like tank cars efficiently and safely.
Sandblasting a tank car involves propelling abrasive materials at high velocity to clean and strip the car’s surface. This process removes rust, old paint, and contaminants, preparing the metal for repainting or coating. Proper surface preparation ensures better adhesion and extends the lifespan of protective coatings applied afterward.
