Coatings Repair Technicians
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB: The following duties are required, but will not be limited to the following:
Maintain work area, keep free of trash.
Cleaning out of railcars.
Applying coating materials by brushing, rolling, and airless spray.
Installing coatings heaters.
Moving coatings heaters.
Manipulating containers of coatings materials.
Entering railcars for lining inspection and repairs.
Installing scaffolding inside of railcars.
Must be able to use coatings gauges and instruments for NDT.
The above job duties are required for this job. The Painter’s duties are the reason for this job. These functions are repeated as a matter of daily routine.
The Painters will be required to use and work with hazardous chemicals during his/her duties and , therefore, must be medically approved by a doctor to wear a respirator before employee can start work (Occupational Safety and Health Administration Standard 29 CFR 1910.134 (b) (10))- Respiratory Protection.
EDUCATION OR TRAINING: Red River Coatings is a M1002 and M1003 certified facility. All painters will go through a in house quality assurance and certified application training program after they complete the probationary period.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: previous coatings application preferred and will train the motived individual who has the desire to learn a new skill.

Employee will be required to operate company industrial vacuum equipment.
Employee will be required to set up heaters for curing lining.
Employee will be required to assist in operating blasting equipment.
Employee will be required to operate airless spray equipment.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: The following are essential to perform the required job functions:
Employee must be able to lift 62.5 pounds when moving paint and solvent containers in production area.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: The following are essential and can be on a daily routine in the performance of his/her duties:
Employee will be required to work in changing weather conditions, like rain, with appropriate rain gear.
Employee will be required to work in noise areas and must be able to use hearing protection.
Employee will be exposed to dust, fumes, odors, vapors, etc. Employee must be able to wear respirators. No full beards allowed.
Employee will be required to work in ambient outside temperature environment.
